Should I learn to strum or finger-style first?

Although strumming is considered to be much easier than finger-style, it is also true that learning to strum early can lead to bad playing habits if not learned correctly, particularly in regards to left hand technique.

Ideally, the best learning path is: Classical Guitar, Strumming and Finger-style.
